Yang Jun Hand Form Seminar

An exciting opportunity is coming to Washington State for practitioners of traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan.

The Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center in Snohomish, Washington, has announced that it will host Grand Master Yang Jun for a four-day Hand Form Seminar, August 4–7, 2027.

Yang Jun is the sixth-generation descendant of Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan founder Yang Luchan and the lineage holder of the Yang Family tradition. A seminar with Yang Jun offers practitioners an opportunity to study directly within the Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan tradition.

Four Days of Training

The seminar will take place over four days, from Wednesday, August 4 through Saturday, August 7, 2027.

The announced seminar pricing is:

  • Non-Association Members: $420
  • Association Members: $378

The center has also reserved two local hotels for participants. Approximate room rates are expected to be $159–$199 per night. Hotel information and other details will be included with the registration form when it becomes available.

Attendance Will Be Limited

This will be a relatively small seminar, with a maximum attendance of 40 participants.

According to the organizers, 28 people are already on the seminar interest list. Because of the limited number of spaces, anyone seriously interested in attending may want to contact the center before registration opens.

The registration form is expected to be available in November or December 2026. The organizers plan to distribute it by email and post it on the International Association’s website and the Yang Family and Yang Chengfu Facebook pages.

How to Get on the Seminar List

If you are interested in attending, you can contact the Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center directly to be placed on the seminar list:

Putting your name on the interest list does not appear to be the same as registering for the seminar; formal registration will follow when the registration form is released.

A Special Opportunity for Yang Style Practitioners

For those who practice Yang-style Tai Chi, four consecutive days of instruction with Grand Master Yang Jun could be a valuable opportunity to devote concentrated time to the Hand Form.

Seminars provide something that is difficult to duplicate in a regular weekly class: several days in which practitioners can focus on their Tai Chi without the interruptions of everyday practice. They also provide an opportunity to train alongside other practitioners who share an interest in the traditional Yang Family method.

For anyone interested in studying Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan directly with its current lineage holder, this is an event worth putting on the calendar.
