Members of Redding Tai Chi gather every Saturday in the McConnell Arboretum and Gardens for Tai Chi practice. On a recent Saturday, the seasonal pond, filled by recent rains, added a serene backdrop. It was a particularly quiet morning with a light rain falling as we practiced. Towards the end of our session, an otter swam near us and crawled onto the bank of the pond. We observed its playful antics—stretching, scratching, and rolling on the bank—for about 15 minutes. The Arboretum is a wonderful place to practice Tai Chi.
