Dear Tai Chi Friends,
As we approach the new year, I’m excited to invite you to our 11th Annual Start the New Year with Tai Chi – a tradition that has become a meaningful way to begin each year with intention, balance, and community.
When: January 1, 2026 at 8:00 AM
Where: Old City Hall (upstairs), 1313 Market Street, Redding, CA
Cost: FREE and open to everyone (free parking on the street).
Why Start Your Year with Tai Chi?
While most people are still recovering from New Year’s Eve, we gather to set a different tone for the year ahead. There’s something powerful about beginning the year by centering yourself, moving with purpose, and connecting with others who value wellness and mindfulness.
Who Should Come?
- Current students – Practice with your Tai Chi community and start 2026 strong
- Former students – Reconnect with the practice and see familiar faces
- Curious beginners – Experience Tai Chi in a welcoming, no-pressure environment. You don’t need any experience to participate! Just follow along.
- Friends and family – Bring someone who’s been curious about what you do
What to Expect:
We’ll spend about an hour moving through Tai Chi form together, adapted to accommodate all skill levels. New Year’s morning is calm and quiet, the energy is positive, and there’s no better way to realize that you’re choosing how you want this year to go.
No special clothing needed — just wear clothes easy to move in and comfortable shoes. Bring water if you’d like.
Make 2026 Yours — Make It Different
Every year begins with the same 365 days. What makes one year different from another is how we choose to begin it.
By showing up at 8 AM on New Year’s morning — while the world is still quiet — you are saying:
“This year, I choose peace. I choose health. I choose my direction.”
One hour on January 1st can set the tone for all that follows. Start the year with intention, and let that first step ripple through the year ahead.
I hope you’ll join us.
Here’s to a year of balance, strength, and inner peace.
